Who We Are
Home and family. No matter what how you feel about those two words, let us introduce you to another kind of family, another idea of home.
We’re a growing family of believers in Montgomery County, Maryland. Our church is located in Derwood, in the center of the county, and we have members coming from all over, including Rockville, Germantown, Gaithersburg, North Potomac, Potomac, Bethesda, Kensington, Silver Spring, Wheaton, Aspen Hill, Olney, Brookeville, Ashton, Frederick, and beyond.
Here at Redland, we all wear different clothes, work different jobs, reside in different houses, drive different cars, but we live the same faith.
Redland is a place where we plant seeds of faith through our children’s ministry and youth ministry, we encourage each other as our faith grows, and we reach out to the community, sharing the good news of our faith.
Our family celebrates together, comforts each other, and provides for one another.
In a world that changes and shifts, we provide a constant in God’s love for the residents and wayfarers of Montgomery County. Whether you have lived in Montgomery County your whole life, you moved for school, or your job transferred you to the area, we have a place for you.
We welcome you to join our faith family. At Redland, you are home.
What We Believe
St. Augustine writes, “In the non-essentials, freedom; in the essentials, unity; in all things, love.”
We embrace this philosophy at Redland, refusing to allow things that are not important to threaten the loving fellowship we cherish. However, when it comes to our beliefs there are essentials—non-negotiables that are the foundation of our unity. We have found the 1963 edition of The Baptist Faith and Message to be the best summary of those beliefs.
